+ How do I know I’m a good fit with BW Financial Planning?
Trust your instinct. Let’s have a conversation. Do we like each other? Is there a sense of mutual trust and respect? BW Financial Planning is focused on long-term sustainable financial planning and investing. Not a quick fix.
If you are looking for the next hot stock tip or for someone to predict which way the market will go, I’m not the choice for you.
After chatting if we decide that we are not the right combination, I will happily refer you to other financial advisors who might be a better fit for you and your situation.
+ Are you a fiduciary?
Yes. My fiduciary oath is that I will act in your best interests at all times. Always.
+ What are your qualifications?
I have over 15 years of experience working with highly sophisticated institutions and personal investors in the investment management industry.
I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, hold a FINRA Series 65 license, and have a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
I am dedicated to continued education and attend financial seminars on a regular basis to best serve clients and because I love to learn. To better serve the unique needs of clients who are divorced or in the process of divorcing, I attended the 3-day national conference held by the Institute for Certified Divorce Financial Analysts.
+ Why is the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation important?
The CFP® designation is the gold standard in the financial industry. The CFP® certification process identifies to the public that those individuals who have been authorized to use the CFP® certification marks have met rigorous professional standards and have agreed to adhere to the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence when dealing with clients.
+ How do you get paid?
As a fee-only financial advisor, I am paid directly by you and only you. I don't earn commissions or receive any other form of compensation for referrals to other companies. You receive objective advice rather than a commission-driven sales pitch.
+ Can we still work together if I don’t live in Denver?
Absolutely. We can do everything virtually via phone, video call or email so we don’t have to live next door to each other to work together. I do travel to the Bay Area and Chicago frequently.
+ If my Significant Other deals with the money stuff, I’m good... right?
Unfortunately, you never know what life has in store for you. So even if one partner takes the lead, it is wise for both partners to have an understanding or knowledge about how and where their money is invested. As a couple you determine the best course for your goals and values. As your advisor my role is to educate and present strategies.
